QUETTA-Unidentified persons killed two personnel of security forces and wounded two others in Khuzdar town, some 350 kilometers South-West of the provincial capital here on Saturday. According to sources, four unknown armed men riding on two motorbikes opened indiscriminate firing on a vehicle of security forces with sophisticated weapons at Chakar Khan Road of Khuzdar. As a result, two security personnel identified as Muhammad Sharif and Asad Rauf sustained critical wounds and succumbed to their injuries on the spot while two other personnel identified as Samandar Khan and Shahid Mehmood received serious injuries. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Khuzdar for first aid but later on they were taken to CMH Khuzdar where condition of Samandar Khan was stated to be serious. The assailants escaped from the scene after committing the crime. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack on personnel of security forces till filing of this story. Soon after the incident police, personnel of Frontier Corps and Anti-Terrorist Forces reached the scene and cordoned off the area. The incident created panic and fear amongst the people of the area while shopkeepers closed down their shops. According to a Press release issued by ISPR, two personnel of security forces embraced martyrdom due to firing of terrorists. The statement says the incident of firing occurred at around 1pm when four armed men riding on two motorbikes opened indiscriminate firing on a vehicle of security forces near Azadi Chowk. Two other personnel sustained bullet wounds and they are under treatment in CMH Khuzdar where their condition is stated to be out of danger. ISPR has strongly condemned the nefarious act of terrorism. Police has registered a case and started a search for arrest of accused involved in the attack on security personnel.
