LAHORE - Two terrorists riding on a motorbike opened fire on police van outside Gulshan-e-Ravi Police Station and two police vans were badly damaged in two low-intensity blasts outside Lytton Road police station, killing one policeman and injuring five others including the SHO in the provincial capital late Friday night. The injured were immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital where two of them are reported to be critical. The attacks spread panic in Lahore police and the security at police stations and other police offices was beefed up. As per details, Gulshan-e-Ravi police officials were standing outside the police station for the shift of duty at about 12:30 midnight, when two bikers opened fire at them. As a result, the van driver Saleem and constable Maqsood received serious injuries. Both the cops were shifted to the hospital. A short while after the incident an anti-vehicle lifting staff van parked outside the Lytton Road police station and a van of the same agency standing at a petrol pump a few steps away from the police station were hit one after the other with two bombs of low intensity. This attack wounded SHO Lytton Road Rizwan Latif, Sub-Inspector Abdul Razzaq van driver Aamer and four others, while both the vehicles were badly damaged. The blasts caused panic all around. The injured were shifted to Mayo Hospital where one of the injured succumbed to injures and another is in critical condition. High police officials, Rescue 1122, Edhi and bomb disposal squad teams rushed to the spots as soon as they got the information. The police have cordoned off the city and security has been beefed up.
