QUETTA - Unknown armed people shot dead a Station House Officer and injured a constable in Khuzdar district, some 350 kilometres away from provincial capital, on Sunday. According to police sources, some people were organising a protest rally against the killing of two persons in Zehri area allegedly by firing of security forces on Saturday. When rally ended unidentified people opened firing on SHO Mir Riaz Zehri and constable Farooq. As a result, they received critical wounds and rushed to nearby hospital. However, SHO Mir Riaz succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital. Condition of constable Farooq is out of danger. Police handed over body to heirs after all fulfilling legal formalities. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
