Five people including former UC Naib Nazim were killed and over 20 were injured in a suicide attack at the main gate of Police Line in District Karak on Saturday. A police official Afsar Khan told BBC that a suicide bomber rammed his explosive laden vehicle into the Police Station on Saturday's morning. The Police station building completely collapsed following the explosion. The suicide bomber wanted to take his explosive laden vehicle into the Police Station but the Policeman on the gate did not let him enter the building after which he rammed his vehicle into the gate of the Police station causing a loud explosion. The injured have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Karak and policemen were also among the injured. A relief operation is underway by the rescue workers. The bomb disposal squad and other law enforcing agencies have initiated investigation. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani srrongly condemned the suicide attack on a police station in Karak. In their separate messages, the president and the prime minister have expressed their deep shock and grief over the sad incident in which several police personnel and civilians, including a child, were killed. They expressed their resolve not to be deterred by such acts of violence and vowed to continue the fight against terrorism till its logical conclusion.
