Pakistani Truck Art exhibited in Ottawa

OTTAWA
The High Commission for Pakistan, Ottawa organised a Truck Art Exhibition on Parliament Hill featuring the prominent Pakistani truck artist, Haider Ali. 
The event was attended by a large cross section of people from Ottawa such as Senators, Members of Parliament, prominent business leaders, media representatives, important Government functionaries and the Pakistani origin community in Ottawa.
The High Commissioner along with the Chairperson of the Canada-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Senator Salma Attaullah Jan inaugurated the exhibition. Introducing the Artist, the High Commissioner spoke about the significance of Truck Art in Pakistan and the manner in which it was promoting Pakistani culture and traditions world-wide. He also thanked the audience for their enthusiastic response to the exhibition.
Apart from Senator Salma Attaullah Jan, Naz Ikramullah, who is the daughter of Pakistan’s first Foreign Secretary Ikramullah, also spoke on the occasion.
At the end of the event, which featured very high on Ottawa’s cultural calendar, Haider Ali presented a hand painted picture to the Canadian Senate, which was received by Senator Salma Attaullah Jan.
