ISLAMABAD Former Test cricketer Sarfaraz Nawaz said Friday that Bangladeshi spinners could create problems for the greenshirts on the slow wickets as both the teams face each other in the World Twenty20 on Saturday (today) at St Lucia, West Indies. Talking to TheNation, Sarfaraz Nawaz said that toss might also play a vital role in the match. Defending champions Pakistan should bat first if they win the coins battle and should try to restrict the opponents to a lower total, he said. Pakistan have outstanding bowlers and have the abilities to topple world class batsmen in all versions of games including Twenty20. We have good pacers and magical spinners in Saeed Ajmal and Shahid Afridi. But, our batting line is weak. We have only Akmal brothers, Afridi and Abdul Razzaq to rely upon, he added. Responding to a question, the former cricketer said that Pakistan lost their warm-up match against low ranked Zimbabwe. Our management did new experiment and did not make a combination for the important match. We should select only those lads who can perform against Bangladesh and Australia. The selection on the match day will also be an important factor, he said. Pressure will be certainly on green shirts because they are defending champions and the nation is expecting a lot from them. However, Afridi is a fighting leader of team and he unites all the boys in the ground. He boosts the spirit of the players and his team-mates can deliver in the mega event, he said. Sarfaraz said that Pakistani players need to work hard in the fielding department. Pakistan team miss Umar Gul. But, still we have good pace battery. Aamir, Saeed and Afridi can produce good performances in the tournament, he added.
