NEW YORK - Pakistan's Aisam ul Haq Qureshi and Dutch Julien Rojer got the better out of Spanish duo of R Bautista Agut and D Gimeno-Traverin the second round of men's double event in round two of the tournament.
The fifth ranked duo of Qureshi and Rojer started the match as favorites and kept their heads high from the beginning of the match and won it by 6-2 easily. The only thing the Spanish duo could brag on was the fact that they made less unforced errors compared to their opponents.
The second set of the game did not make us witness any surprises. The set was tight until Qureshi and Rojer took out advantage of the break point and took upper hand in the set by 4-2, which made it even much more harder for the Spanish duo to get back in the game against the fifth ranked doubles pair.
The game ended in triumph of the fifth ranked pair by 6-2 and 6-3. The game went on for just above one hour. Qureshi and Rojer will either play the Israeli duo Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram or the pair of Yen-Hsun Lu (Chinese Taipei) and Divij Sharan (India), depending on the outcome of the match between the two teams.
