Team to trounce rivals in next phase

LAHORE – Lahore Lions team manager Waqas Akbar Monday vowed that the team would trounce its rivals in the next phase of the World Kabaddi League (WKL). Talking to the reporters here at the Wahga Border after returning from India, Waqas said: “In the first two phases, our team demonstrated a reasonable performance and won three kabaddi league matches out of four encounters in England and India.” Team captain Babar Waseem Gujjar said that his raiders especially Shafiq Chishti and Akmal Shahzad Dogar played extraordinary against Punjab Thunder. “Against Khalsa Warriors, our boys tried their best but the luck didn’t favour us, thus we lost the game by a slim margin,” he said. Team coach Ghulam Abbas Butt said his boys were in great spirits and they did well and also try to overcome their shortcomings. –Staff Reporter
