LAHORE - University of Management and Sciences (UMT) has clinched the Inter-varsity Rugby 7s Tournament after crushing University of Central Punjab in the final by 25-0 played here at UMT campus.
UMT captain Abdullah was the star of the tournament as he was not only the highest scorer but also the best player of the tournament. Lahore School of Economics (LSE) won the third place match after defeating Punjab University by 19-10.
Pakistan Rigby Union (PRU) president Fawzi Khawaja was chief guest, who along with UMT Rector, university officials and sports head DHA Tariq Niazi distributed prizes among the winning teams and players. The PRU officials and coaches also monitored the players to hunt the talent for the upcoming National 15s team trials. Eight teams took part in the tournament including UMT, PU, DDC, GC Jallo, Garrison Academy, UCP Lahore, Garrison University and LSE.
