IHC allows Sethi to continue PCB acting chairman, directs for conducting fresh elections in 90 days

Islamabad High Court (IHC) has allowed Najam Sethi to continue as acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) with the condition of holding fresh elections within 90 days.
Acting chairman PCB Najam Sethi appeared before the single member bench of IHC, comprising Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, here on Thursday.
Justice Siddiqui expressed confidence in Sethi's appointment and hoped that the former caretaker chief minister of Punjab province will conduct free and fair elections in the PCB within three months.
It should be mentioned that Sethi, a prominent political analyst, was appointed by prime minister Nawaz Sharif last month after Justice Siddiqui directed the government to replace Zaka Ashraf, saying his election was ''polluted''.
Sethi also attended ICC's Board meeting last week after Justice Siddiqui stopped Ashraf from going.
Later talking to media persons outside the court, Najam Sethi said that he decided to appear before the court personally.
The acting chairman PCB said that he would spare no efforts for improvement in the board and will fulfill the IHC task within the stipulated time period.
