ISLAMABAD - Nasir Iqbal and Farhan Mehboob will represent the country in the World Squash Championship that will explode in to action in Manchester, UK from October 26.
Both the players are going through a tough training at a camp set up by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) here at the Mushaf Squash Complex for the last couple of days.
They have been placed in the qualifying round of the championship. National head coach Jamshed Gul is preparing the players for the event that carries a prize purse of $325,000. Besides World No 48 Nasir and World No 136 Farhan, other three players including Waqas Mehboob, Owais Khan and Bilal Zakir have also been invited for the camp which will end on October 23. The qualifying round will be held from October 26-27 whereas the main round will be held from October 28 to November 3. Talking to this scribe, PSF secretary Group Captain Amir Nawaz said: "It is expected that after getting hard training during the camp, our players will be able to produce better results in the championship as well as in other upcoming events."
