LAHORE - Magical spinner Saeed Ajmal, who is known as wicket taking machine, has claimed that his bowling action is absolutely right and he is not worried about it.
Talking to Nawa-i-Waqt, Ajmal said that he always bowled according to the laws of cricket and helped his team register crucial victories through his wicket grabbing performances. “This time too, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will clear my action and after that, this issue will be buried once for all.”
Sharing his future aims, Ajmal said: “Now, I am keen to deliver for national team in the 2015 World Cup. We want to go for World Cup with the aim of wining it and I am confident enough I will do my best to deliver and play my role in help the team lift the title.” Laughing on a question about his ‘dosra’, he replied: “The preparation for ‘teesra’ is in line and there is no danger to ‘dosra’ which can help me grab maximum number of wickets. Actually, the main problem is my accidental arm which is hurt in an accident. It hurts when I bowl, but the ICC took it as I am violating the rules of cricket. I have provided all the proofs to the ICC and I will also present these things to Pakistan media.” When asked for the second time his action was declared doubtful, he replied that it was the ICC’s right they could raise question on any players’ action. “I am not under pressure due to this matter, as I am satisfied with my bowling action and hopeful of positive results in this regard.” To another query, Ajmal said that he had no plan to retire from Test cricket and he would continue playing till he was fully fit.
