National Junior Taekwondo inaugurated

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) director general Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera Thursday inaugurated the NLC National Junior Taekwondo Championship 2014 here at the Hamidi Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex. Park Jae Woo, Second Secretary/Consular, South Korean Embassy, Pakistan Taekwando Federation (PTWF) president Lt Col Waseem Ahmed Janjua, DDG facilities Agha Amjedullah, deputy director hostels Malik Imtiaz Hussain along with other dignitaries and packed to capacity crowd was also present during an impressive and colorful inaugural ceremony. Players from 12 different departments, provinces and services marched past with their respective flags. Different sets of players displayed taekwando skills. Some breathtaking techniques were displayed first by the junior age groups both male and females and then by the senior players.
The PSB negligence spoiled all the good work done by the federation, as rain water was pouring from all sides of the roof and there was pool of water everywhere in the hall. The PSB spent millions of rupees from the national kitty in the name of maintenance and renovation, only last year a whopping Rs 30 million was spent on renovation/paint and maintenance work at the complex, but all their efforts went in vain, when the high-profile dignitaries and Korean official witnessed the worst condition of the complex. It is the national and moral duty of PSB DG Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera to take strict notice of the situation as he was the witness of the entire episode.
