Sports Ministry refuses NoC to Indian Challengers

ISLAMABAD Minister of Sports refused to grant No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Yasir Butt take part in the PSA Indian Challengers, scheduled to be kicked off from April 14, 2010 at Kolkata, India. An official of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) informed that minister was permitting only team to visit India for mega events. It is a policy decision that green shirts will be not allowed to participate in any invitational or individual sports event at the soil of India, he maintained. Pakistans kabaddi team is in India to participate in the World Cup competition. However, hockey team was also granted NOC to feature in the World Cup hockey showpiece in recent past. Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) requested for NOC, which has been turn down according the policy that was came out after IPL issue, he viewed. He further said that India disgraced the Pakistani players by not considering them for Indian Premier League (IPL). Yasir Butt was willing to visit India for individual international squash event and ministry did not grant him NOC for tournament, he added.
