ISLAMABAD - Pakistan U-14 team comprising Sahibzada M Ali, Huzaifa Abdul Rehman, Hamza Bin Rehan and Mahin Aftab Qureshi along with the coach Jaleell Khan leaves for Bangkok, Thailand, from Karachi on Sunday morning.
The team will participate in the ITF Asia Under 14 & Development Championship 2014 - Division 2, which commences at Bangkok, Thailand from today (Monday) to 17th of this month. Pakistan's former number 2 player Jaleel Khan while talking with The Nation said: “It is my very first assignment as coach of the junior team. All the players are very good, especially Sahibzada Ali is a great future prospect of the country who is playing exceptional tennis at international stage and had already won few events abroad. Mahin Aftab has already created waves in female circuit. She despite at a very young age had managed to climb to Pakistan number 4 in female rankings, which is by all means a significant achievement.”
He lauded PTF for sending juniors to international events, which would give the youngsters international tennis playing experience. “I would try to get best from my players and hopefully return with silverware, winning or losing is not matter at this stage, the thing that matters most is the platform, as these kids would benefit a great deal, it would be great learning experience for all of them,” Jaleel concluded.
