KARACHI - The 8th edition of Pakistan Premier Football League began with a sensational upset here on Tuesday at the KPT Football Stadium when KESC stunned strong Pakistan Army by 2-0 in the opening fixture of the 16-team championship. M Rasool netted both the goals. He scored first goal in first session in the 35th minute and second in the 85th minute. In the second match of the day played here at Peoples Football Stadium, Habib Bank twice came back to hold Pakistan Navy to a two all draw. Pakistan Navy took the lead in second minute and got his second goal in 45th minute just before the break. M Ibrahim came to bankers rescue. He slammed the first equalizer in 23rd minute and second in 50th minute. As many as sixteen selected teams are taking part in the Premier football league which will be held in two phases. The first phase will end around July 29. After Ramzan break the competition will resume Sept 9 till the final which will be played some where in December. As many as 240 matches will be played during the competition.
