Ishaq stars in Navy's victory PAF edge out KESC 2-0

Lahore - Dera Ismail Khan-born goalkeeper Ishaq Ahmed put up a splendid display under the bar as Navy cruised to revengeful 1-0 win over KPT at KPT Benazir Sports Complex, West Wharf Road, Kharadar, Karachi in the Pakistan Premier Football League on Thursday. In another match, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) slammed once in each session as airmen overpowered Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) 2-0 at Peoples Sports Complex, Mauripur Road, Lyari Town on Thursday. KPT were the dominant farce in the all-sea match against the semen. But the match ended in favour of Ishaq Ahmed-led team who fired the 25th minute winning goal through Gizri-born twenty years old left winger Asif Bakhsh. He cut in from left flank, evaded three tackles and swept the ball past advancing young keeper Ehsan Ullah, preferred over choice one keeper Sajid. It was 5th goal for Asif. KPT, handicapped the missing of key players Muhammad bin Yonus, Naveed Ahmed and skipper Ahkrae Mamil due to suspension, had better possession but Waseem and Shahid Salim fumbled real opportunities in the first half. Under Khalid Zubair coaching Navy put up positive display despite losing the first leg 1-4 on October 8, 2010 at Rawalpindi. Their winger Basharat might have score more goals but he failed to impress in front of goal. On the other hand, KPT maintained their onslaught but Ishaq was equal to halt their moves. Salim fumbled 7th minute attempt and three minutes later Zafar Majeed was not proper with his try. Zahid Ahmed himself failed on three occasions in the 19th, 26th and 43rd minute while Waseem hit the ball straight to Ishaq in the 20th minute. The 31st minute saw another chance for Salim but he drove the ball straight to Ishaq.
