ISLAMABAD - The second meeting of Steering Committee of Pakistan Inter Board Sports 2012 was held under the chairmanship of Ministry of IPC Joint Secretary Abdul Ghafar Khan on Monday at the conference room of PSB, for an overview on the arrangements of the event.
PSB Director General Tech and Training Dr M Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, Ministry of IPC Deputy Secretary Sports Dr Imtiaz Yousaf, IBSC chairman Dr M Bashir, IBCC secretary Ramzan Achakzai, IBCC Director Muzafar Ahmad Zia and PSB Director National Federations M Azam Dar attended the meeting.
The steering committee took number of decisions for holding the event in a befitting manner. It was decided that PSB president and Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani be requested to open the Inter Board Sports 2012.
The Inter Board Sports 2012 will be held from tomorrow (Dec 12 to Dec 18) at Pakistan Sports Complex. Almost 2,400 players (male and female) from 30 boards would participate in athletics (male and female), badminton (male & female), table tennis (male & female), volleyball (male & female) football (male) and hockey (male) in these competitions. In all, 350 team officials and 100 technical officials would participate in these competitions.
The schedule of matches would be drawn in manager’s meeting while the qualifying rounds will be played from December 12 to 14.
Two-day technical officials’ course also started in Jinnah Hall, PSB from Monday. Syed Habib Shah and Rana Nasrullah delivered lectures about the game rules of athletics while Allah Baksh, Mehmood Aslam Dar and Arshad Mehmood also highlighted the rules of football, hockey and volleyball on the inaugural day.
The venues for these competitions are Jinnah Stadium, Hamidi Hall, Rodham Hall, Liaquat Gymnasium and Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium while the final rounds of these competitions would be played from December 15 to 18.
