LAHORE - Waqar Butt-led 18-member Blues Golf team defeated Farid Malik-led Greens team to win the over-18-holes Palmers Friendship Golf Cup here at Royal Palm Golf Course. Blues team accumulated an impressive aggregate of 24 points as against 12 points managed by the Greens team. Out of a total of nine four ball contests, the Blues won six matches while one contest ended up level. In the individual 18 contests, the Blues players won 10 singles to win the contest. The winning pairs for Greens team were Dr Mohsen Anwer/Irfan Ali and Faisal Sayed/Farid Malik while the pairs of Moeen Salahuddin/Shoaib Bokhari, Sharjeel Awan/Tariq Malik, Col Jameel Khalid/Faisal Ali Malik, Ramzan Sheikh/Fareed Bajwa, Jaudat Hussain/Imran F Mian and Bast Malik/Sh Mahmood Akhter also played well.–Staff Reporter
