Javaria's hat-trick fails to save Knights from defeat in Women T20





KARACHI - Medium pacer Javaria Rauf registered a unique hat-trick but failed to save Knights from two-wicket defeat in PCB Women Twenty20 Triangular Cricket Tournament at Southend Club Ground on Wednesday.
Talented Javaria had Kanita Jalil (28) caught in the slips by Naheeda, having Sidra Nawaz caught by Sana Mir for a duck and trapped lbw Zainab for duck on first, second and third ball of her only over. Batting first, Knights were restricted to 8-8 in 20 overs. Rabia Shah made 24. Leg-spinner Batool Fatima took three wickets for 11 runs. Lasers in reply reached the target for the loss of eight wickets in 17 overs. Kantia Jalil made an attacking 29, hoisting brace of sixes and one boundary.
It was good day for Lasers in the first match they defeated Strikers by 37 runs. Lasers scored 119-5 in 20 overs. Mariam Hasan hammered four boundaries and one six in her knock of 36 and Kanita Jalil made 28. Asmavia Iqbal claimed 3/27. Strikers in response could manage 92-8 in 20 overs. Batool Fatima hit unbeaten 30.
