Manzar wins Open Rock Climbing

ISLAMABAD - The Adventure Club held two-day 6th IMD 2013 Open Rock Climbing Competition to celebrate International Mountain Day. A good number of participants joined in various age categories from different educational institutions, clubs and on individual basis. Boys’ competitions completed at Hang Loose, Beetle’s Nest-5b in Saidpur where Mir Manzar Elahi made record performance to complete his climb in only 00:17:15 seconds. Manzar already held the best time record of 2013 HEC inter-varsities championship, which was 00:20:00 seconds. On new record making performance, Manzar was awarded as the best climber and presented with a shield memento while Ahmed Rizwah, vice president of the club, announced a cash prize of Rs 3000 for him. The girl’s competitions were held at jasmine corner.–Staff Reporter
