LAHORE - KIPS Annual Sports gala was held here at Wapda Sports Complex for boys and girls and concluded on Saturday. Sports Promotion Society and KIPS DPE organised the sports gala under the leadership of Prof Faisal Fayyaz who managed and controlled the overall event. On the occasion, Prof Faisal stated value of games and sports cannot be underestimated in a society. In stable and arrange societies, great importance was attached to physical culture. Sports teach young men the value of discipline and co-operation. So a sort of broad-mindedness is created in the player which is a precious virtue. Khalid Wazir Khan and Salman Maqsood were the chief guests during the inauguration ceremony which was held at 9 am. This event comprised athletics events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m, 4000m), shot-put, discuss throw, javelin throw, long jump, high jump, triple jump and gymkhana events (sack race, chatti race, three leg race, wheel barrow, slow race, soft ball throw, musical chair) and gymnastics and karate display. The guest of honour was Lord, Shoukat Nazir and CEO KIPS Abid Wazir Khan who distributed the prizes among the winners. The following special guests attended this function were Dr MA Pasha (Dean of Science, University of Education), Dr Mubashra, Dr Shaheen Pasha, Dr Sadia Niazi, Prof Aasia Niazi, Prof Painda A Malik, Prof Qamar Zaman, Prof Khadim Ali Khan, Prof Shafqat Rasool, Prof Azmat Ali, Prof Qamar Waheed, Prof Saima Seher, Prof Rabia Hassan, Prof Mujahid Khetrani.
