LAHORE - Lahore Polo Club (LPC) president Haye Mehta Monday said that the Perth polo team would visit Pakistan to play three friendly matches here from February 5 to 9.
Speaking at the press conference held here at the LPC premises, Haye said: “The Perth polo team, which is these days busy in taking part in an event in China, will visit Pakistan soon after getting free from the event and here they will play three friendly matches with us.” “We have also invited South African and Indian polo teams who have showed keen interest in visiting the country and play with us to provide their players opportunities to play some aggressive and healthy polo,” he added.
He also said that the Hush Puppies Pakistan Polo Cup got underway on Monday here at the Lahore Polo Club ground in which seven teams had been participating and all had six to eight goals handicap.
Speaking at the occasion, Hush Puppies Manager Ahsan Rasheed said: “Polo is a traditional sport and has been gaining popularity with each passing day so we are sponsoring it to promote it across the country and we will continue our support for the boost of the games.”
