30 players shortlisted after U-19 trials

Rawalpindi - As many as 30 kids were shortlisted after day-long PCB Talent Hunt U-19 Programme 2014 trials held here at the Pindi Cricket Stadium under the command of trial committee chairman Sabih Azhar Monday.
Talking to The Nation, Sabih said that around 250 plus kids turned up for the trials. “I was not expecting such overwhelming response, as Monday was not holiday but their large participation showed their passion for cricket. As many as 75 fast bowlers, 55 spinners, more than 100 batsmen and all-rounders and 10 wicketkeepers attended the trials.
In all, 30 players were shortlisted while the final list of 20 players will be issued today (Tuesday) and will also be sent to the PCB. The Inter-district U-19 Championship will commence from April 25 in which the teams from Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, AJK, Mianwali and defending champions Rawalpindi will be seen in action,” he added.
