National Ranking Boxing in June


ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) secretary M Akram Khan announced to hold the National Ranking Boxing Championship here from the second week of June. Talking to The Nation, Akram said: “Boxers were picked for the Karachi national camp purely on their performances during the 2013-2014. The changes in the national event were made due to other important events and to avoid clash of dates.” He said: “Currently, inter-unit boxing events are underway in Lahore. We want to give fair chance to all the biding boxers in the national boxing championship. Pakistan's services boxing team will return for participating in World Military Boxing championship in the first week of June, then we will announce final dates of the event, which will not be late than the second week of next month.” “Teams from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KPK, Fata, Islamabad, Army, Navy, PAF, Railways, HEC, Sindh Rangers, and Wapda will participate in the national boxing championship and we will announce national rankings of 40 boxers soon after the completion of the event.”“The PBF is bound to take all the stakeholders on board as we follow National Sports Policy in true letter and spirit. We are united under the dynamic leadership of Maj Gen (r) M Akram Sahi and have complete faith in the POA led by him.
