Blind cricketers seek Rs3m from PCB for SA series

ISLAMABAD The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) has requested the Pakistan Cricket Board to provide Rs 3 million to send national blind cricket team to South Africa for a bilateral series. Chairman PBCC Syed Sultan Shah informed reporters in a press conference here at National Press Club that the team would visit South Africa to play three Twenty20 and three ODI matches during the 13-day trip. He said that the PBCC did not have the sufficient amount to send the team for the forthcoming international cricket series. The series will be held from November 30 to December 12 this year and I wrote a letter to head of the PCB for financial assistance, he said. Sultan Shah further said that Pakistan did well in the blind cricket in past. I am expecting that our lads will perform well against the best side of the world. We will hold our training camp before leaving for the international competition, he added. Later, he announced 15-man team for the tour. Abdul Razzak will lead the national team while Masood Jan will be his deputy. We selected five players for each three categories B1, B2 and B3. Our players have enough international exposure, he said. Names of players: Abdul Razzak (captain), Masood Jan (vice captain), Aamir Ishfaq, Mohammad Waqas, Mohammad Zafar, Mohammad Idris, Mohammad Shahbaz, Zeeshan Abbasi, Ghulam Mustafa, Mohammad Afzal, Muzaffar Ali, Anis Javed, Mohammad Fayyaz, Mohammad Jameel and Nisar Ali.
