Nasir off to flying start in US

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal got off to a flying start in the $10,000 Emerson RCP Series 2014 Squash Championship in St Louis, USA after beating Karamtullah 3-0 in the first round.
Talking to The Nation on Thursday, Nasir said: “It is my very first US trip and I want to start the journey on a high note as I worked very hard on my training. Last year, US authorities rejected my visa request, but thanks to special efforts of PSF secretary Amir Nawaz and head coach Jamshed Gul, I finally managed to get the visa this year.”
“I started the match on a high pace and didn’t allow Karamtullah to settle down in the match and won the first game 11-7, second 11-3 and the third 11-1 to win the first round match. I will now face sixth seed Sebastiaan Weenink of Netherlands,” Nasir concluded.
