LAHORE Diamond Paints trotted to an easy 11-5 1/2 victory against struggling Hira Valves on the opening day of the Treet Cup tournament at the Lahore Polo Club here on Tuesday. Diamond Paints had raced to three goal lead even before Hira Valves riders could get a clue. Asif Tiwana opened the match with a well-deserving hat-trick -all three being solo effort goals. Tiwana continued with his goal scoring spree and ended the match with five goals. Mir Shoaib converted three goals. Omar Asjad Malhi and Bilal Haye Mehta officiated the match. In an earlier match, Colony Sugar Mills beat Habib Metropolitan Bank thrashed by 11 goals to 3 1/2 with Mian Khurram Munir and Mian Hussein Iftikhar doing the main damage. Khuuram hit five and Iftikhar hit four goals. In another match, Hattaf Security beat Sea Gold by 2 /12 to 2 goals. Hassan Ali Farrukh scored both the goals for the winning side and from the losing side Malik Azam Hayat Noon and Kashif Jamal contributed a goal a piece. Master Paints beat Hattaf Security by five goals to 1-1/2. Atif Tiwana scored three goals for the winning side and Muhammad Samir Malik contributed two goals. Hassan Ali Farrukh scored one goal for the losing side. Master Paints beat Sea Gold by 4-3 with Atif Tiwana scoring all the goals. Master Paints will now to play the semi-final on Thursday.
