ISLAMABAD - Pakistani girls outclassed Kyrgyzstan 2-1 in the girls’ Junior Under-16 Fed Cup as they won the deciding doubles match, which was stopped on Monday due to heavy rain, to give Pakistan their first victory in the event being held in Malaysia on Wednesday.
According to the information received here, the pair of Rida and Iman defeated Believa and Askarove 7-6(2), 7-6(5).
Pakistani girls continued their brilliant form in the third match against Iran as they thrashed Iranian girls 3-0 in their third match of the event.
In the first match, Rida beat Jasmin in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 while in the second match, Iman beat Elaheh 6-1, 6-0. In the doubles match, Rida and Iman teamed up to beat Pakbate and Elaheh 6-2, 6-2 to register their second victory on the trot. Now the girls will play against Sri Lanka today (Thursday).
In the World Junior Boys U-14 Tournament, Pakistani lads outclassed Sri Lanka 3-0. In the first match, M Muzammil beat Aadavan Pushparaj 6-3, 7-6(5). In the second match, Syed Nofil Kaleem outclassed Andrew Muttiah 6-2, 6-1 while in the doubles match, Abdal and Muzammil teamed up to beat Andrew Muttia and Jerique Rajapakse 6-3, 6-4. Pakistan will play Syria today (Thursday) in the knock out match.
