Saadi seals gold in US Open Karate


Islamabad - Pakistan’s ace martial art player Saadi Abbas underlined his talent for getting another laurel of his karate career winning a gold medal in the US Open Karate Championship held recently at Las Vegas, USA. During the six-day event, Saadi exhibited his prowess and in the 67kgs bouts and outclassed his respective opponents from Guatemala, USA, Greece and Ecuador on his way to the final, said the information made available here on Monday. In the ultimate showdown, he beat J Herry of USA with a convincing margin of 4-2. Saadi won gold medals in Commonwealth Karate Championship in 2010 South Africa and Montreal in 2013. He is also gold medalist of 11th Asian Karate Championship China. He is the only karate player in South Asian countries who has won a gold medal in Asian Karate Championship.–Staff Reporter
