Pakistan A, India in Asian Team Snooker semis

KARACHI- The country's last hope Pakistan A, holder India, favorites Iran and Thailand advanced in the Jubilee Insurance second Asian Team Snooker Championship after winning their semi-finals on Friday evening.
In the first semi-final Pakistan "A" comprising of former IBSF World Amateur Champion M Asif and M Sajjad will clash Thailand at 10 am. At the same time India will be up against Iran. Both Asif and Sajjad excelled at the world level by winning the IBSF World Team title in Carlow (Ireland) last year. "It will be tough game against Thailand but confident to reach the final, M Asif said.
Pakistan A defeated India B 3-1 with a sterling break of 124 by M Asif in fourth frame. Earlier on Thursday, former national champion Imran Shahzad posted tournament' highest breajk of 139 Pakistan's 2-23 loss to Iran. Seasoned international Imran constructed this awesome break in the third frame to receive an applause from modest crowd in thwe hall.
QUARTERFINAL RESULTS:
Pakistan A beat India B 3-1 (84-24, 06-80, 67-17, 124-0) and India A beat Syria 3-2 (73-30, 96-01, 45-60, 11-89(79), 74-47).
