ISLAMABAD - Ahmed Chaudhry won the Professional category of the First Islamabad Tennis League, defeating Imran Shaukat 2-1 in the final played here on Sunday. Ahmed started the final as underdog against highly experienced Imran of Multan, who had won number titles in the past and also had loads of international experience, but Ahmed gave a tough fight in the first set before going down 5/7. From then Ahmed bounced back in style and was almost unstoppable as he won next two sets 6-2, 6-1to clinch the first ever Professional League title in 55 minutes. Raja Sajid was the chief guest on prize distribution ceremony who awarded a cash prize of Rs 6000 to Ahmed and Rs 4000 to Imran. ITC MD Fazle Subhan announced to organise professional league on regular basis and vowed to bring the top national stars in the fold too.–Staff Reporter
