ISLAMABAD - Top seed Aamir Atlas Khan lifted the title and a cash prize of US$1,805 after beating Farhan Mehboob in the final of the Chief of Air Staff International Squash Championship here at Mushaf Ali Mir Squash Complex on Saturday.
Aamir was in awesome mood and exhibited marvellous shots in the first game and took it 11-8 and raced to win the second set 11-2. Farhan showed the glimpses of his game in the third set and won it by 11-2 with comfort.
The capacity crowd support also went in vain as Aamir took control of the game and raced to 8-0 lead. Though Farhan tried his best to put up fight but it was too little and too late. Aamir won the deciding game 11-2 to take the match 3-1 in 38 minutes.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafik Butt (SI) M, President PSF was the chief guest on the occasion. PSF SVP Air Vice Marshal, secretary, Pakistan squash team head coach, chief of referees and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Later, the chief guest gave away the runners up trophy and cash prize of US$1,235 to Farhan Mehboob and the championship trophy and cash prize of US$1,805 to the champion Aamir Atlas Khan.
