ISLAMABAD - The Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday dismissed three similar writ petitions filed by former members of the interim committees of Regional and District Cricket Associations (RDCA) of Rawalpindi and Regional Cricket Association (RCA) Faisalabad.
Justice Ayesha Malik of the LHC dismissed the petitions filed from former member of Interim Committee for RCA Rawalpindi Salaman Shah, former coordinator of Interim Committee of DCA Rawalpindi M Qaiser Mirdad Khan and former member of the Interim Committee of RCA Faisalabad M Anis.
The petitioners challenged the PCB decision of removing them as members of the interim committees and making changes in the interim committees for RCA Rawalpindi, District Cricket Associations Rawalpindi and RCA Faisalabad.
Justice Ayesha dismissed these petitions and a detailed judgment in this regard would be issued in a day or two.
It is pertinent to mention here that Justice Ayesha Malik has already handed a judgment in Baghbanpura Cricket Club president Shahid Ghafoor's petition on April 7, 2014 that decision to constitute interim committees is a policy decision made by the PCB.
Accordingly, the PCB enjoys full constitutional and legal rights to appoint, remove or make changes in the interim committees appointed or to be appointed in the regions and districts where tenure of the elected office-bearers have expired or would expire in due course of time.
