Mujahid wins gold in Inter Board Sports athletics
 
 
 

ISLAMABAD - Mujahid Hussain of Abbottabad Board won the gold medal in 110m hurdles men's event in 15.32 seconds on the third day of Pakistan Inter Board Sports 2014 competitions held at Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad on Monday.
Abdul Wahab of Peshawar Board got silver and M Zeeshan also from Abbottabad Board won bronze. Sami Ullah of Peshawar Board won gold in 200m race while Shanakht of Lahore and Shehbaz of Abbottabad won silver and bronze medals. M Ismail of Lahore Board won 1500m race gold while Maroof Younas of Sargodha and Aqib Javed of Abbottabad won silver and bronze medals. Peshawar Board won gold in the event of 4x400m relay race while Gujranwala and Peshawar Board won silver and bronze medals.
In shot-put event, Billal Shahid won gold medal while M Usman silver and Zohaib Khan bronze. The athlete of Abbottabad Board M Afzal got first position in triple jump where as Adeel of Lahore and Sami Ullah of Peshawar got second and third positions. In 4x100m relay race, the team of Peshawar Board clinched gold while teams of Abbottabad and Lahore got silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 400m race, Sami Ullah won gold while Ghaus Muhammad and Fakhar bagged silver and bronze. In the quarterfinal of table tennis event, players of Swat, Gujrnawala, Lahore and Islamabad qualified for semifinals after beating teams of Mardan, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad and Peshawar respectively. In semifinals, teams of Gujranawala and Islamabad paved their entry in to final by defeating their opponents from Lahore and Swat Boards.
In final match, Gujranawala Board lifted the trophy by defeating Islamabad Board 3-1. In volleyball event, Lahore Board of Technical Education defeated Bannu 2-1 and Multan Board defeated Karachi in a one-sided match 2-0. In basketball event, teams of Abottabad, Larkana, Lahore and Swat won their quarterfinals against Malakand, Gujranwala, Multan and Faisalabad. Faisalabad Board won the final against Malakand by 68-61.
