LAHORE - Indian blind cricket team captain Shaker Naik has said that Pakistan is a safe country to hold international cricket and it is hoped that international cricket will soon return to it.
"Pakistan is a safe country for international cricket and it is very imperative for Pakistan that international cricket returns here," he told the reporters here before the departure of the Indian blind cricket team. Pakistan blind cricket team made a clean 3-0 sweep in the T20 matches, while won the three-one-day match series 2-1.
He said the Indian blind cricket team had visited Pakistan on many occasion and it did not face security concerns. "Victory and defeat are the part of the game and we enjoyed playing in Pakistan. We should play on regular basis.”
The Indian blind captain said India and Pakistan played significant role in promoting blind cricket across the globe and it was the result of the efforts of these two countries that blind cricket was gaining popularity with each passing day. "We are leaving with memorable memories and we were warmly looked after during our tour," he concluded.
