LAHORE The Kinnaird College University organised a friendly cricket match on Wednesday to honour Asian gold medal winning women team members Sana Mir, Marina Iqbal, Bismah Maroof and Nida Rashid. In the match, Allama Iqbal XI outplayed Jinnah XI by 73 runs here at Kinnaird College University on Wednesday. Batting first, Allama Iqbal XI posted 126 runs for three wickets with Sidra Ameen scoring unbeaten 50 runs, Sidra Nawaz 23 and Faryal Awan 18 runs. For Jinnah XI, Venroka Roma and Sumaira shared one wicket each. Jinnah XI, in reply, were bundled out on just 53 runs. Only Bushra Ashraf and Komal Feroz reached the double figures. Faryal Awan grabbed three wickets for 13 while Nimra Imran tool two for four. Faryal Awan was declared the woman of the match. Principal KCU Mrs Rukhsana, PCB official Zakir Khan, Lahore City Cricket Association Secretary Mian Javed Ali, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Womens Wing Chairperson Bushra Aitzaz and other guests distributed prizes among the players as well the top performers in different national and regional events. Pakistan women cricket team members skipper Sana Mir, Nida Dar, Bismah Maroof and Marina Iqbal were guest of honurs. PCB Womens Wing Chairperson Bushra Aitzaz said that due to hard work, Pakistan women cricket team had won the gold. She said that the team would be provided good training, grounds, academies and other facilities so that they may get more gold in international events. The following awards were given.
