LAHORE - Former LCCA secretary Mian Javed Ali Tuesday said that irrespective of his political career, former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan was still the national cricket hero. Talking to the reporters, Mian Javed, who is a head of Azad Group which is ready to contest the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) elections under interim set-up, expressed his and the entire party’s concern over uncalled for criticism of Imran Khan by certain quarters for his alleged involvement in betting and ball-tampering. “Imran has proved his worth as one of the leading cricketers of the world when he led Pakistan to World Cup victory in 1992 and he is still a national cricket hero and will remain a hero of the entire cricketing community.” –Staff Reporter
