ISLAMBAD - Faizan Riaz helped XI-Star Club edge out Diamond Club by two wickets to clinch the NBP-ICA Super League 2013 Championship here at Diamond Ground on Monday. It was for the third consecutive year that XI-Star lifted the trophy and pocketed Rs 30,000 cash prize while Diamond earned Rs 20,000 as runners-up. Diamond piled up 218-7 in 40-overs-a-side final with Immad Wasim hitting unbeaten 60 while Kamran Hussain added 47 and Zohaib Ahmed 34. Sawar Khan took 2-40 and M Ihsan 2-33. Fiazan slammed superb unbeaten 75. Senior Executive Vice President (Sports) and ex-chief selector Iqbal Qasim was chief guest and distributed prizes and shields among the top performers. Iqbal Qasim and Sports Consultant Ghulam Mohammad were given souvenirs by Islamabad Region president Shakil Shaikh.–Staff Reporter
