Nofil wins maiden U-14 ATF title

ISLAMABAD - Syed Nofil Kaleem Imam won the maiden international junior title after beating Robel in the ATF U-14 Circuit II final played at Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Nofil’s coach Kamran Khalil said: “Nofil was in terrific form and completely destroyed his opponent Hussain Robel in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. Nofil never allowed his far experienced rival any room to settle down and raced to 6-2 victory in the first set and then repeated the same feat in the second set to win the title match 6-2, 6-2.”
Talking to this scribe from Dhaka, Nofil praised his coach Kamran Khalil and said whatever he has achieved is the result of utmost efforts of his coach and prayers of his parents.”
Nofil earlier finished third and fifth in the ATF series held in Colombo from September 1 to 14. His first international win had brought pleasant news back home among. Nofil, 13, is a student of Beacon House class VII and is ranked No 1 in Pakistan and 15 in Asia. Presently, He is likely to be elevated among the first five in ATF by the end of the current year.
He will now fly from Dhaka to Bangkok to appear in two ATF series being started from October 1 to 14. The talented boy needs a pat from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf to ensure his continues success.
