ISLAMABAD Lalazar junior and senior sections won the SLS Montessori Inter-Branch Badminton Tournament that concluded on Monday at Lalazar Campus Rawalpindi. National badminton star Sara Mehmud was the chief guest in the final and distributed the trophies, shields and certificates among the players. Around 500 boys and girls competed in different events. Harley Street, Junior/Senior Sections Lalazar, Tufail Road Campus, Islamabad Campus, 37-Tulsa Road, Satellite Town Campus, Peshawar Road and New Lalazar Campus fought for the top honour in the four-day competition. Musa Jogazai of Islamabad Campus was declared best player of the tournament. Zara Zafar and Fareeha Kainat were awarded best players of girls double fixture. It was 7th title in row for the Lalazar Campus Rawalpindi in badminton event. Speaking at the closing ceremony, chief guest highlighted the importance of sports and said that female should come forward in sports as they were playing their best role in the other departments.
