Lodhi invited to play in GM events in India

KARACHI - Pakistan's top chess player and international master Mahmood Lodhi has been invited to feature in two Grand Masters chess event being staged in India. Invitation has been extended to him by All India Chess Federation. "It has been my endeavor to improve my FIDE ranking by appearing in Grand Masters International events," he said. “I have already applied for India visa which I expect to get on Saturday.” He said due to lack of sponsorship and support, he had restricted his participation to Indian events. Lodhi said he had been working hard for these big events. “Mind Sports Association of Pakistan (MSAP) is extending him some support.” He said as leading GMs from India, Europe, Central Asian Republics, Iran, Middle East are likely to take it allowing him to improve his game against them.–APP
