Punjab thrash Islamabad in U-14 soccer

LAHORE – The Sports Board Punjab (SBP) U-14 boys football team launched its campaign in the Inter-Provincial U-14 Football Championship by thrashing Islamabad 11-0 at Boys Degree College ground, Rawalakot on Tuesday. The SBP boys demonstrated wonderful ball control and passing during the one-sided affair, said the information made available here. Usman Ali and Shahid Fareed exhibited superb form and netted four and three goals respectively. Yaseen Zulfiqar sent the ball into goalpost twice while Kamran Asghar and M Mehran contributed one goal each. Director General, Azad Kashmir Sports Board, Mansoor Qadir Dar inaugurated the event. The participating teams are Punjab, Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Fata, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh.–Staff Reporter
