LAHORE The Indo-Pak duo, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan and Rohan Bopanna of India, was all fired up as they annihilated No 2 seeds Mehesh Bhupati of India and Max Mirnyi of Belarus to book a place in the final of the Pilot Pen ATP Championship in New Haven, USA. Bhupati and Mirnyi are no 2 seeds of the championship and no 4 ranked team in the ATP Race of 2010 and considered a very strong doubles team on the circuit. Both teams played excellent tennis especially on the serve returns as both set up a number of break points. Aisam and Rohan fired seven aces and faced eight break points on their serve which they saved all together successfully and never gave a serve break up advantage to their opponents. Bhupati and Mirnyi hit three aces and were exposed to five break points on their serve out of which Aisam and partner availed one in each set which gave them a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Earlier in the quarter-final, Aisam and partner defeated Uzbek and Kazakhstan pair of Dennis Istomin and Andrey Golubev with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (1). In the pre quarter-final, they caused another upset of the championship when they defeated the fourth seeds Mariusz Fystenberg and Marcin Matkowski of Poland. In the final, they will face Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Horia Tecau of Romania. This is Aisam and Rohans fourth final of the year at ATP Championship level, having won once and ending twice as runners-up.
