ISLAMABAD - Nasir Iqbal, Farhan Mehboob, Farhan Zaman and Danish Atlas Khan booked berths in the squad of the Asian Team Squash Championship commencing from June 10 in Hong Kong. These four lads will help Pakistan in defending their title against the best in Asia. Only five players were available for the trial matches conducted at Mushaf Ali Mir Squash Complex for three days. Syed Ali Mujtaba Bokhari failed to make it to the final four as he lost all the four matches he played while Nasir managed to win all his four matches, winning 12 games and losing just four. Farhan Mehboob remained second with three wins and one defeat as he won nine games and lost four. Farhan Zaman grabbed third position with two wins and two defeats as he won 10 games and lost nine while the fourth and last place went to Danish Atlas Khan, who managed to win one match and lost three matches winning seven games and losing 10. The PSF has started the training camp for the selection of both male and female teams, but it was quite unfortunate that only five male players were available while the federation was forced to reschedule female team trials for May 5, as majority of females had stayed away from joining the camp due to different reasons. Pakistan top female player Muqaddas Ashraf and Saima Shoukat are in UK while Sammer Anjum did not report yet, Sadia Gul is busy in her exams so only Madina Zafar and Zoya Khalid reported in the camp. Riffat Khan is still nursing her injury.
