India dominate Asian Jr Table Tennis

ISLAMABAD - Indian players dominated the Asian Cadet & Junior Table Tennis Championship after winning all the 10 gold medals on offer on the concluding day of the championship played at Rodham Hall, Pakistan Sports Complex on Friday.
India retained their Asian Junior title despite filing B team in the event winning 10 gold and 4 silver medals. IPC Minister Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada was the chief guest on the prize distribution ceremony, while DG PSB Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, PTTF president Syed M Sibtain, Joint Secretary IPC Khalid Mirza, DDG Agha Amjedullah, director Azam Dar, deputy director hostels Malik Imtaiz along with other dignitaries and pack to capacity crowd was present on the occasion. Sri Lanka bagged second position by winning 4 silver and 8 bronze medals while hosts Pakistan finished third with 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. Nepal finished 4th with 6 bronze medals and Bangladesh fifth with 2 bronze while Maldives fail to open their medals account.
While speaking at the occasion, Mian Riaz congratulated all the participating teams and said, winning or losing doesn't matter, the thing that matters most is the way one enters in the event as all the players are the ambassadors of their respective countries. “I offer my sincere well-wishes to Indian team for retaining the title, and hope they will take message of peace of love and harmony back home, he also announce 1-month salary for the PSB staff, who performed duties during the event.”
He further said government is firm in its resolve to bring international sports in the country, he added that tournament would prove to be the harbinger of new era in sports and other countries would feel confident in sending their contingents to Pakistan, we have organized international tournaments quite successfully, and hopefully it would again recapture the trust of the international community.
He appreciated the efforts of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation for organizing successful tournament for which they deserved plaudits; he further added that Table Tennis Federation and PSB provided all amenities' which was commendable. 
The Federal Minister said, events like such help players to hone to their abilities, which they will utilize in future to bring laurels to their respective countries, he also shared that IPC Ministry had ironed out the final kinks, which were hindering in solving POA issues, government and POA are hand in glove, and concerting their energies in facilitating all federations and players. Sharing his thoughts that Pakistani contingent did remarkably well in commonwealth games, keeping in view the short time they had for preparation. He aspired that in Asian games, which are imminent, our players are ready to fight for the glory of the country.  Boy's U-18 singles final was played between Lalrnpuna and Utkarsh Gupta both from India, it was best of 7 games final, Gupta managed to win the first game 11-9, playing very aggressive game, while Lalrnpuna played very defensively, but after losing the first game, it was all Lalrnpuna, who never looked back and win next 4 games in a row, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8 and 11-8, in the fifth game, at one stage Lalrnpuna was leading 10-3, but Gupta fought gallantly and take the score to 8-10 before losing the game, thus final in 1 hour of highly entertaining ping pong.
