GUANGZHOU - The Pakistan team beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the second semi-final of the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup Tuesday to set final clash with arch-rivals India to be played today (Wednesday).
Pakistan winning the toss invited Bangladesh to bat, who made 82 for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Farzana Huque scoring 28 runs remained prominent. From Pakistan side, Nida Rashid and Bisma Maroof took 2 wickets each.
Thus, Bangladesh had set a target of 83 runs for Pakistan to win, which was achieved for loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs. Bisma Marrof made 27 and Nida Rashid 25 to shine in the T20 match.
Despite rain washing out the semi-final clash between India and Sri Lanka here today, Indian eves advanced to the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup final by the virtue of topping their pool.
Today’s match was abandoned without a ball bowled at the Guanggong International Cricket Stadium. The Indian women’s team will now take on arch-rivals Pakistan in the final Wednesday.
However, captain Mithali Raj and veteran fast bowler Jhulan Goswami will not be a part of the playing XI in the final as both of them have been ruled out of the tournament due to ankle injuries.
The Indian eves had earlier defeated Hong Kong, Thailand and Pakistan to finish on top of the standings with six points.
