Rawalpindi- Two people were killed and four were injured as participants of a jirga opened fire at each other in Mohala Chah Sultan, within limits of Police Station Waris Khan, informed sources on Thursday.

The incident occurred during a meeting held to resolve a dispute related to a fight between children, they said. Another source disclosed that both groups -- Raja Nazir and Mullah Kohistani -- clashed with each other on a property dispute. The attendees first engaged in a brawl and then took out guns and began firing at each other shortly after.

The injured and the dead bodies of Raja Nasir and Ashraf Kohistani were later shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), where the armed men of both groups also stormed into the hospital, creating a serious law and order situation, they said.

A heavy contingent of police, following the orders of CPO Omer Saeed Malik, rushed to the hospital and cordoned off the area, controlling the law and order situation. During the entire episode, the parents and their attendants suffered a lot of injuries in the Emergency Department of BBH, sources said.

SSP Investigation Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, SSP Operations Wasim Riaz and SP Rawal Division Babar Javed Joya have been directed by the CPO to arrest the killers. Police are on the scene and investigating the double murder case, sources informed.
