Crucial talks on Punjab flour price and quota tomorrow

Crucial talks on Punjab flour price and quota will be held tomorrow, while the shortage of flour and its price-hike continued unabated throughout the province, as the flourmill owners and the authorities in food department have as yet not been able to resolve the lingering issue of flour price and the supply of wheat from the government warehouses. Meanwhile, the flourmills, finding the market wheat price too high and uneconomical, have slashed their pace of wheat grinding. Mill owners said that buying wheat from the market at Rs800 per maund and selling flour at Rs365 per bag of 20 kg has become impossible and, therefore, several mills have finally shut down.
