Over 100 days have passed since our new Prime Minister took over. It is surprising that during this time he has visited many foreign countries with large teams of ministers, signed many MOU but has not told in detail what happened during these foreign junkets. The Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani must take the people in confidence and tell them of his achievements so far. He should also tell them why no steps have been taken so far to reduce the price hike which is killing them. Smuggling and hoarding still goes on and the culprits are no longer afraid. It seems fear of the government has disappeared and now the shopkeepers are charging whatever suits their sweet will. -COL (Retd) R.M. Akhtar, Lahore Cantt., via e-mail, July 7.
